We make all our hardwood gates to order in our own workshops. They can be made in a variety of Timbers including Oak, Iroko, Meranti and Balau all of which are very durable and will last for many years.

We do not have a range as all our gates are custom made to the customers own design and specifications. We can help with designs if required and can make virtually any design.

All our gates are jointed using Fox Tenons which are extremely strong and cannot be parted once assembled. The picture shows how the joint works.

The Tenon has 2 cuts running up its length with a drill hole at the base of each which is to stop splitting. The Tenon fits into the mortise as normal but the exit side of the mortise is slightly flared. After the Tenon is pushed and glued in the Mortise wedges are hammered into the cuts which splays the Tenon and means it can never be removed.

All the gate rails are weather moulded on the upward edges to make sure that water runs off and doesn't sit and also gives a softer appearance.

Boarding is rebated into the bottom rail, mid or top rail and stiles and is made with a Tongue and Groove joint with a 'V' groove. Each board is spaced to allow for expansion and the rebates are all 40mm deep to allow more than enough expansion room.

Our gates are finished with either Sikkens or Osmo UV protection oil which gives both weather protection and stops the Sun silvering the timber for a much longer period.

Automation.

We are qualified 'CAME' gate automation installers and are able to install any of our driveway gates with above ground or below ground motors. CAME is the most respected and widely used gate automation equipment and offers a 3 year guarantee for complete peace of mind.*
